Gmail Node API Quickstart Issues

Gmail’s Node API Quickstart struggles with a few things:

Its internal calls don’t match any version of the Google APIs I’ve been able to find
It doesn’t seem to know the structure of the code it’s documenting
It doesn’t properly consume the external files it calls for

Three or four of these things could easily be chalked up to version differences. The rest can’t. Come on, Google. The adage is “if it compiles, it ships” not “it ships.”
