Demo for “A Quantitative Cache Evaluation of Select PolyBench Kernels”

This is a full end-to-end demonstration of version 0.1.1 of our simulation framework using gem5 and the Zig Build System. We intend to demonstrate the reproducibility of the build pipeline from the very beginning up to LaTeX report generation, by setting up a Fedora 43 container using Podman. The only packages installed are gcc (and glib packages), m4, git, zlib-devel, mise and graphviz (only needed because of a single figure in the final report) — not even a system-wide Python installation is included. The whole process takes just over 5 hours of real time.

Do note that certain sections of this cast are sped up, especially for the ~4h53m of simulations.
