Maven password encryption, introduced in Maven3 had several shortcomings, that Maven4 improves. For start, Maven4 does not store “master password” anywhere. The new mvnenc tool goal is to be on-par with mvn3 CLI and more: offers “init” wizard to setup, encrypt and decrypt operations.
