The RISC OS build environment docker image allows users to build and manipulate RISC OS binaries and files within Linux or macOS. Many of the familiar Norcroft tools are available, as well as some common open-source tools.

This recording demonstrates some of the available tools:

  • Creating a new RISC OS project
  • Displaying context-coloured RISC OS files.
  • Building a C program
  • Creating a RISC OS format archive
  • Displaying binary file content
  • Get online developer information

Additionally there are tools for:

  • BASIC tokenisation/detokenisation
  • Zip file listing and extraction
  • PRM documentation generation
  • Equivalents of RISC OS commands like Copy, IfThere and *Wipe.
  • StrongHelp extraction and creation.
  • Shell with nano configured with RISC OS file colouring.
