Differentially private Lightning payment channels

This cast will show a simple network of real LN nodes running on a regtest backend. There are 4 nodes: Alice, Bob, Charlie and Mallory. Mallory is our bad actor. She can mount Balance Disclosure Attacks on the entire network. She is powerful enough to mount a full attack between each payment. In between she will show us the information she has gathered on the network.

First we will show two payments without the plugin that makes payments differentially private.

Then we will turn on the dpchannels.py plugin for Alice, Bob and Charlie.

After that we will show the same payments, but now Mallory can’t make any correct deductions about what has happened.
