A terminal based Hacker News (news.ycombinator.com) Made with Impossible.js.

Installing

Open terminal and run npm install -g impossible-hn.

Using

Just type hn

Then:

[←][→] selects list [enter] loads
[↑][↓] selects item [enter] reads [space] in browser
[→] drills comments [←] goes back
[ctrl+r] refresh cache
[ctrl+s] settings [tab] options

While this site doesn't offer GIF conversion at the moment, you can still do it yourself with the help of asciinema GIF generator utility - agg.

Once you have it installed run the following command to create GIF file:

agg https://asciinema.org/a/371009 371009.gif

Or, if you already downloaded the recording file:

agg 371009.cast 371009.gif

Check agg --help for all available options. You can change font family and size, select color theme, adjust speed and more.
