This shows an example installation of Ignition on Linux that:

  • Creates a system user, ignition for the Gateway to run as
  • Installs in custom location /usr/local/share/ignition, which is a better convention than the default.
  • Installs as a service using a non-default (but more standard) service name ignition
  • Starts the service
  • Makes sure the service is enabled (for auto-launch on boot)
