This demo is presenting the utilization of the hardware crypto element (Microchip ECC508A) to securely store the private keys and authentication certificate. The private key is internally generated in the crypto element and is never exposed to the external world.

Moreover, AWS JITR feature is presented. When the device is first powered on, it’s certificate gets registered in the AWS. In addition to that, the AWS Lambda function creates a new IoT thing connected to this certificate.

The JITR process in conjunction with the usage of the crypto element allows to seamlessly establish trusted relation between the brand new device and the AWS IoT.
