The Scientific Filesystem (scif) is an organizational format that supports exposure of executables and metadata for discoverability. The format includes a known filesystem structure, a definition for a set of environment variables describing it, and functions for generation of the variables and interaction with the libraries, metadata, and executables located within.

Here we show that interaction with a scientific filesystem is exactly the same for a Docker image vanessa/scif and a Singularity image, scif-cli. They are generated from a simple recipe

While this site doesn't offer GIF conversion at the moment, you can still do it yourself with the help of asciinema GIF generator utility - agg.

Once you have it installed run the following command to create GIF file:

agg https://asciinema.org/a/156490 156490.gif

Or, if you already downloaded the recording file:

agg 156490.json 156490.gif

Check agg --help for all available options. You can change font family and size, select color theme, adjust speed and more.
