Testing the AppImage package for QPDF

(Unfortunately, I picked a terminal window which was a bit too big. To view the demo, you might need to zoom your browser Window out: [ctrl]+[-] (or [cmd]+[-]* if you are on a Mac).

This is the demo of a first proof-of-concept version of an AppImage package for the QPDF command line tool.

It shows that it’s basically working.

This AppImage bundles QPDF v.7.0.0 and should be working on most major Linux distros, old and new. (There is hardly any distro, which has QPDF-7.0.0 already shipping through their repositories.)

Replay in terminal

You can replay the downloaded recording in your terminal using the asciinema play command:

Use with stand-alone player on your website

Download asciinema player from the releases page (you only need .js and .css file), then use it like this:

While this site doesn't offer GIF conversion at the moment, you can still do it yourself with the help of asciinema GIF generator utility - agg.

Once you have it installed run the following command to create GIF file:

agg https://asciinema.org/a/145824 145824.gif

Or, if you already downloaded the recording file:

agg 145824.json 145824.gif

Check agg --help for all available options. You can change font family and size, select color theme, adjust speed and more.
