Sample run of the stressant program with a regular user. Note the errors that are correctly flagged by stressant as the user cannot open the disk to run hdparm or smartctl tests. Missing from the screencast are the --email and --logfile options that allow sending reports over email or saving them to a logfile.

Stressant is here ran with shorter timeouts for the needs of a short demonstration, but the default settings (100M files and 10m CPU run) should put some more stress on the system. Obviously, it is recommended to tweak those settings according to your needs and requirements…

While this site doesn't offer GIF conversion at the moment, you can still do it yourself with the help of asciinema GIF generator utility - agg.

Once you have it installed run the following command to create GIF file:

agg https://asciinema.org/a/107950 107950.gif

Or, if you already downloaded the recording file:

agg 107950.json 107950.gif

Check agg --help for all available options. You can change font family and size, select color theme, adjust speed and more.
